Si Como No brings “friendly” to a new level. You’ll feel like you’re staying with your closest childhood friends — who just happen to own a world-class resort next to the Manuel Antonio National Park. Or to look at it differently, it takes a whole lot of friendly to outshine a setting like this, and Si Como No pulls it off. (My sister is disabled, and she got better treatment here than anywhere else I’ve ever seen.)
And there are no crowds! Unlike many neighboring resorts, Si Como No has only a few rooms, so no matter when you go — even during peek periods — you can count on the relaxed experience that a tropical locale like this demands.
The breakfast buffet at the on-site Rico Tico is other-worldly, so good that it defies description. If I lived near Rico Tico I’d never eat breakfast at home again. Throw in the perfect setting and unmatched hospitality, and there’s really no better way to start your day.
So as far as I’m concerned, this is the spot from which to explore Manuel Antonio National Park, to experience the myriad local adventures, or just to relax and unwind.
Also good to know: For vegetarians, the on-site dining is adequate but not stellar (except breakfast, which is heavenly). The air conditioning cooled my room, but struggled to achieve the downright cold that I (bizarrely) prefer. The property is hilly, and may be a challenge for the mobility impaired. Our American cell phones had reception but texts were frequently delayed by hours or even a day. I didn’t visit the attached butterfly garden. My experience was that the on-site staff will try to acomodate any request.
