What kind of a name is Lux Umbraque?<\/div><\/div>

\nLux Umbraque is Latin for “light and shadow,” the two primary elements of photography.<\/p>\n

“But it’s only two words,” you might object. Yes, except no. It’s really three: lux<\/i> is “light,” umbra<\/i> is “shadow,” and que,<\/i> like et,<\/i> means “and”; it’s just written as a suffix after a word instead of as a separate word before it.<\/p>\n

“Isn’t that a little hard to pronounce?” Maybe, but isn’t that a small price to pay for timeless elegance?<\/p>\n

“Do you have a nickname at least?” Yes: L.U.Q.
